Merrick Production Manager - (Dry Plant)

As the Production Manager, you will provide support to the Plant Manager and evaluate and measure operation reviews, help control losses and waste reduction, manage the day-to-day system as well as coaching the front-line leaders to be successful with the teams. You will use computer-based technologies to provide daily reporting on metrics and manage capital projects as needed. You will also lead continuous improvement projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Motivate and coach production team to attain high levels of performance, responsible for managing production, packaging, and warehousing operations of the assigned shift.
  • Leading handovers between shifts, daily reporting, and ensuring the accuracy of all reporting to provide accurate data for analysis.
  • First line of defense for quality ensuring to stop production for poor quality, maintaining sanitary work environment, and performing corrective actions.
  • Coaching teams on the high level of quality expected and what to do in times of deviation while working directly with Shift Team Leaders to ensure all expectations are followed.
  • Work with plant manager to support both regulatory and internal audit conformance.
  • Conduct safety observations and coaching throughout assigned shift while taking immediate action to correct and eliminate safety hazards.
  • Notify and report to Plant manager all related incidents with accurate and timely information.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Must be available to work overnight shift.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, military, or related environment
  • and
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, production, military, or related environment.
