Join us as we lead the Merrick Way! We have an immediate need for an Internal Transfer Coordinator. This position will manage stock movements between plants assuring the continuous flow of product from production for Distribution Centers to assure the right level of safety stocks in each location.

 Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

 Main responsibilities:

  • Assure the right level of stock within Merrick Warehouses.
    • Work with planning team to define safety stocks based on sales forecast.
    • Daily monitoring of inventory levels against agreed targets.
    • Definition of transfer needs and execution.
    • Coordinate co-man shipments.
    • Anticipate to marketing sales such as promotions, end of month push, discontinued items, etc.
    • Analyze short-shipped items due to being in the wrong location and take actions.
    • Schedule carriers and measure their service.
    • Support Inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy 
  • Trailers movement:
    • Define loading & unloading priorities.
    • Track drop trailers and coordinate movements 
  • Fluent communication with:
    • Production and Quality to review product availability and releases
    • Plant warehouses, Main DC and Outside storage.
    • Planning and Co-manufacture team.
    • Internal and external transportation team.
    • Keep team informed of stock levels and availability dates.
    • Communicate delays, out of stock and inventory discrepancies
    • Participate in daily operational meetings at the DC and panning when needed
    • Get involve in improvement projects related to product flow.
    • Help with product rotation issues and short-dated items.
    • Implement targets and standards to support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement.

 Key Challenges:

  • Work close to Warehouse teams, Transportation, Production, Quality Assurance and Planning.
  • Assuring the right safety stocks within our Warehouses

Basic Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. College degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 2-year general office/clerical, logistics operations or customer service experience required 

Preferred Experience: Hands on experience with a computerized warehouse management system or Transportation Management desirable. Knowledge of basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office applications and Microsoft Dynamics.
